# WATTS, Frederick Waters [View the canonical artist record]() ## Artist - Lifespan: 1800–1870 - Profession: painter - School: English ## Biography English painter, known also as Frederick William \(or Frederick W.\) Watts. Little is known about his life. He was a landscape painter influenced by Constable. In 1817 he entered the Royal Academy in London, and won silver medals there between 1819-21. He exhibited at the academy from 1821-60, and at the British Institution from 1823-62.
