## Biography

Portuguese painter, part of a family of artists, son of Gregório Lopes \(c. 1490-1550\). He was probably taught by his father and was particularly distinguished as a portraitist. He followed the example of the early Antwerp Mannerism that strongly characterized his father&#39;s work.
