# FEUCHÈRE, Jean-Jacques [View the canonical artist record]() ## Artist - Lifespan: 1807–1852 - Profession: sculptor - School: French ## Biography French sculptor. He was a student of Jean-Pierre Cortot \(1787-1843\), and among his students was Jacques-Léonard Maillet. Feuchère was the primary artist in Paris working in small-scale, domestic sculpture in the first half of the 19th century. His statuettes are rendered in a variety of historical styles, though he preferred a Renaissance idiom. Feuchère was involved in many of the sculptural projects of the July Monarchy.
