## Biography

Hendrick van Someren \(or Somer\), Dutch painter, active in Italy. He was the son of the painter Barend van Someren \(1572-1635\) and the grandson of Aert Mijtens \(1556-1601\), the eldest known member of the Mijtens family of painters. He was the pupil of his father and of Jusepe de Ribera. At least one of his works had a forged signature of Ribera. He is perhaps the same painter sometimes referred to as Enrico Fiammingo.
