## Biography

German painter and draughtsman, a student of Wilhelm von Schadow. In 1814, he was in military service; he travelled Austria and Northern Italy. He was patronised by Count Radziwill and participated to the latter&#39;s edition of illustrations to Goethe\)&#39;s Faust I. He was drowned in the Loisach river near Wolfratshausen.
