# GUÉLARD, Jean-Baptiste-Antoine [View the canonical artist record]() ## Artist - Profession: graphic artist - School: French ## Biography French painter and printmaker, probably identical with Jean Gueslart, painter and professor of the Académie de Saint-Luc in 1738. There is a considerably confusion between the various homonyms: both Jean-Baptiste Guélard and Antoine Guélard were active printmakers in Paris c. 1730-50. Jean-Baptiste published a lavishly illustrated 'Description abrégée des principeaux arts et métiers' \(Paris, 1743\).
