## Biography

Hungarian painter. Telepy, a pupil of Miklós Barabás, studied in Munich and at the Venice Academy in 1852-57. He visited Rome in 1857. Initially, he painted portraits in Barabás&#39;s style, but he also did some altar pictures. His later academic-romantic landscapes were inspired by his experiences abroad \(Swiss Landscape, and Rome\) and in Hungary \( Ruins of Diósgyõr Castle, Dévény&#34;, Lake Balaton at Aliga, Mátraszentkereszt etc.\). From 1861 until his death, he was the secretary of the Art Society in Budapest. In this capacity he played an important role in the art life of his time.
