## Biography

French painter. He was a pupil of Léon Cogniet, but was also influenced by Venetian painters. He died at the age of 24 in tuberculosis. His cousin Eugène Trutat \(born 1840\) was a photographer and conservator in the Natural History Museum in Toulouse.
