## Biography

Adolphe Théodore Jules Martial Potémont, French painter and etcher. He stayed from 1847 to 1857 in La Réunion, where he signed several of his works. Back in France, he became a pupil of Léon Cogniet \(1794-1880\) and Felix Brissot de Warville \(1818-1892\). He made etchings of the old Paris and presented them at the 1867 World Expo held in the capital.
