# Crucifix [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [LORENZETTI, Pietro]() - Date: 1301-1350 - Technique: Panel, 380 x 274 cm ## Commentary This unsigned painting, originating from the church of St Mark in Cortona, is an early work from the period 1315-20 when Lorenzetti created many works in Cortona. Christ is here represented just as he is drawing his last breath. On the sides the Virgin and St John are represented.
