## Commentary

Model of the church of the Oratorians c. 1668 Wood Oratory of St Philip Neri, Florence In 1645, Pietro da Cortona proposed a project for the new church of the Oratorians of San Filippo Neri in Florence. The Oratorians abandoned this enterprise due to the heavy costs estimated to realize the church and made do with a proposal by Pier Francesco Silvani. This too proved to be too expensive, so was only partially realized \(1668\).
