It contains only real elements but is nevertheless artificial in its entirety, and fits into the group of imaginary landscapes. The figures show Italian influences. All postures, daring foreshortenings and distorted poses can be followed back to Michelangelo, Raphael and Parmigianino. However, the painting belongs to the old Netherlandish tradition, too.
