# View of the park [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [HUTAULT, Maximilien Joseph]() - Date: 1801-1850 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary France is the land of the Baroque garden, but in the 18th century the less rigid British landscape garden very quickly became popular as well. The landscaped English-style garden \(Jardin Anglais\) at the Palace of Fontainebleau was created between 1810 and 1812 by the architect Hutault on Napoleon's decision to replace Francis I's pine tree garden.
