# St Mary Magdalene [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MASTER of the Palazzo Venezia Madonna]() - Date: 1301-1350 - Technique: Egg tempera on wood, 60 x 35 cm ## Commentary St Mary Magdalene c. 1350 Egg tempera on wood, 60 x 35 cm National Gallery, London St Mary Magdalene's traditional attribute of a pot of ointment is here made of stone with blue and pink veining. The two panels in the National Gallery depicting Sts Mary Magdalene and Peter were in the main tier of the altarpiece which had in its centre the Palazzo Venezia Madonna. A panel with St Paul \(private collection\) was also identified as a main tier panel of this altarpiece.
