## Commentary

The Porte Saint-Denis is a Parisian monument located at the site of one of the gates of the Wall of Charles V, one of the now-destroyed fortifications of Paris. This view of this famous monument is taken from the Boulevard de Bonne Nouvelle, an extension of the Boulevard Poissonnière past the Porte de Saint-Denis, beyond to the Boulevard de Saint-Martin.
