## Commentary

The present richly decorated cabinet with lots of tiny drawers inside to hold money, jewels and other small valuables, is a typical piece of furniture in seventeenth-century Antwerp. It was probably made for a high-born and affluent client. \(The carved and turned walnut stand is from the nineteenth century.\)
