# View of Florence and the Arno, Looking West [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [WRIGHT, Joseph]() - Date: 1751-1800 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 58 x 77 cm ## Commentary This is the only recorded painting of Florence by Joseph Wright of Derby, who visited the city between 19th June and 4th July 1775 on his way back from Rome.
