PIERO DELLA FRANCESCA \(b. 1416, Borgo San Sepolcro, d. 1492, Borgo San Sepolcro\) 2a. Procession of the Queen of Sheba \(detail\) 1452-66 Fresco San Francesco, Arezzo Behind the Queen of Sheba, kneeling in adoration, is her retinue of aristocratic ladies in waiting, with their high foreheads \(according to the fashion of the time\) emphasizing the round shape of their heads and the cylindrical form of the neck.
