## Commentary

Santa María del Estany is a Benedictine monastery with a Romanesque church and cloister. The parts of the old monastery that are still visible today are the cloister, the church and the abbey. The most eye-catching element of the monastery is the profusely decorated cloister, which is still in an excellent state of preservation.
