- Technique: Clear glass with diamond-point engraving, height 36 cm

## Commentary

This is an example of the type of flute glass blown &#39;à la façon de Venise&#39; which became fashionable in the Netherlands in the second half of the seventeenth century. Engraved on it by an anonymous engraver is a portrait of Prince Frederik Hendrik in full armour. Similar glasses were made a century earlier in Venice.
