# Martyrdom of St Sebastian [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [DÜRER, Albrecht]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Woodcut ## Commentary No unanimity of opinion has been reached regarding this print, which is without a monogram. The conception is not unworthy of Dürer, but the composition is lacking in concentration and swing. Single figures with a great deal of movement are balanced one against the other. Pollaiolo and Mantegna were the chief influences for this work.
