## Commentary

Casket with Scenes from the life of St Margaret 1530s Copper, enamel, bronze, wood, polychrome painting, gilding, 18 x 10 x 11 cm The Hermitage, St. Petersburg This casket is embellished with 12 enamelled plaques, 10 of which bear a P beneath a crown, a mark associated with the Pénicaud dynasty in Limoges. This mark indicates that the casket, perhaps a reliquary, was executed in the Pénicaud workshop.
