# Pietà [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [LORENZO DI ALESSANDRO DA SANSEVERINO]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Tempera on wood, 62 x 158 cm ## Commentary Lorenzo di Alessandro da Sanseverino, a painter from the cirle of Girolamo da Camerino, is certainly one of the leading exponents of the art of the Marches, a region whose art we are familiar with in a rather summary way and whose artists have lacked adequate critical appraisal.
