## Commentary

The plastic, sculptural bodies of the Virgin and particularly the Christ Child here are reminiscent of the &lt;a onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/c/coecke/triptych.html&#39;\)&#34; href=&#34;/html/c/coecke/triptych.html&#34;&gt;figure types of Coecke van Aelst,&lt;/a&gt; who in turn was looking back to the &lt;a onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/o/orley/holyfami.html&#39;\)&#34; href=&#34;/html/o/orley/holyfami.html&#34;&gt;work of Bernard van Orley.&lt;/a&gt;
