## Commentary

The painting shows the family portrait of Simon and Anne van ÍHaecht \(1632-?\) with their sons Rombaut François, Adrien \(1676-1727\), Christophe and their daughter, all standing and seated full-length, before classical architecture. The portrait of this important Mechelen family was directly commissioned from the artist c. 1694.
