# Three Peasant Women [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BANTI, Cristiano]() - Date: 1851-1900 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 73 x 34 cm ## Commentary Along with Telemaco Signorini, Silvestro Lega, and Giovanni Fattori, Cristiano Banti was one of the leading members of the 'Macchiaioli' group who frequented the Caffè Michelangiolo in Florence, meeting-place of progressive artists. Banti later became a teacher at the Florentine Academy.
