# The Mystic Marriage of St Catherine [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [SODOMA, Il]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Oil on panel, 95 x 76 cm ## Commentary The preparatory cartoon for this painting has been identified in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. Formerly part of the Ricciarelli collection in Volterra, the painting belongs to the period of il Sodoma's sojourn in that city and is dated to 1539-40.
