# Exterior view [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [DEWEZ, Laurent-Benoît]() - Date: 1751-1800 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary Laurent-Benoît Dewez, a pupil of Vanvitelli, was the first to develop a distinct Neoclassical style in southern Netherlands. He built a palace in Seneffe for Duke Julien de Pestre in 1760. He elegantly arranged the façade with Corinthian columns and designed the colonnades of the court gallery with Ionic columns.
