## Commentary

At his very best Trübner produced arresting, uncompromising likenesses such as the present portrait. In contrast to Trübner&#39;s flattering portrayals of riders, Ida Görz is shown with a penetrating, Toulouse-Lautrec-like sharpness of focus and animation.
