# Interior view [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [ARCHITECT, French]() - Date: 1251-1300 - Technique: Photo ## Commentary The pilgrimage church at Saint-Sulpice-de-Favières is an example of the way the new architecture of Paris was being adopted after the middle of the 13th century. The principle of free-standing wall-arcading at ground level, the niches in front of the windows, the tracery, and the shape of the piers are all clearly realized through the models of Saint-Denis and Saint-Germain-en-Laye. On the other hand, the choir polygon, glazed in its three tiers, is an entirely independent creation.
