## Commentary

Portrait of Abraham van der Doort c. 1640 Oil on canvas, 45 x 38 cm The Hermitage, St. Petersburg Abraham van der Doort \(1575/1580-1640\) was a Dutch artist, active in England. As Keeper of Charles I&#39;s art collections, he was the first Surveyor of the King&#39;s Pictures.
