## Commentary

Muller made his engraving after a &lt;A onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/v/vries/mercury.html&#39;\)&#34; HREF=&#34;/html/v/vries/mercury.html&#34;&gt;statue by Adriaen de Vries.&lt;/A&gt; He made it clear that the original was a statue through the inscriptions.
