# Design for sculpture [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BRAY, Salomon de]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Drawing ## Commentary Salomon de Bray's last major architectural commission was the renovation of the Prinsenhof in Amsterdam for the Admiralty in 1661. There is only one signed drawing by him with a design for sculpture of the fronton. The Admiralty evidently wanted a sculpture in the classical style, like those that could be seen in the frontons of the Town Hall.
