# Berkemeyer [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [VISSCHER, Anna Roemers]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Green glass, height 22 cm ## Commentary Berkemeyer is a goblet with a broad stem and a wide, spreading, funnel-shaped bowl. This example is decorated with a diamond-point engraving by Anna Roemers Visscher, one of the most gifted glass calligraphers of the age. The glass was engraved for Ludovicus de Romer 'as a token of friendship', as she wrote on the foot of the glass.
