## Commentary

This initial representing Christ and the Doubting Thomas is from the Frankish Psalter, a richly illuminated manuscript preserved in the Cathedral Library of Esztergom, Hungary. The Biblical compositions of the manuscript, painted in brilliant colours, show the solemn sternness of 13th century codex painting.
