# Monument to Cardinal Cristoforo della Rovere [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [BREGNO, Andrea]() - Date: 1451-1500 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary Monument to Cardinal Cristoforo della Rovere c. 1479 Marble Cappella della Rovere, Santa Maria del Popolo, Rome Dated works by Andrea Bregno are the monument to Cardinal Cristoforo della Rovere and Cardinal Domenico della Rovere \(d. 1478 and 1501 respectively\) in Santa Maria del Popolo, on which Mino da Fiesole also worked. The tomb of Cardinal Cristoforo della Rovere, the Bishop of Tarentaise is one of the best 15th century sculpted funeral monuments in Rome. It is the work of Andrea Bregno but the relief of the Virgin and the Child in the lunette is attributed to Mino da Fiesole.
