## Commentary

Scene 6 of the Cecilia cycle in the Oratory of St Cecilia, painted by Amico Aspertini, depicts the burial of Valerian and Tiburtius. This panel contains obvious allusions to the entombment of Christ, and reminiscences from &lt;A onclick=&#34;return OpenOther\(&#39;/html/r/raphael/3umbtrip/37entom.html&#39;\)&#34; HREF=&#34;/html/r/raphael/3umbtrip/37entom.html&#34;&gt;Raphael&#39;s painting&lt;/A&gt; of the subject. The painting is in a very poor condition.
