## Commentary

St Anthony Abbot c. 1350 Egg tempera on wood, 62 x 36 cm National Gallery, London This panel comes from a polyptych, probably it was to the left of a Virgin and Child. It shows the influence of both Lippo Memmi, with whom Giovanni di Nicola probably trained, and of Francesco Traini, with whom he probably collaborated.
