Tomb of Arnold van der Sluis c. 1320 Stone, 323 x 123 cm Museum Catharijneconvent, Utrecht Private individuals liked to be buried close to the high altar of a church, and had their graves marked with sculpted tombstones, an example from Utrecht being shown in the picture.
