## Commentary

The inscription PORTA SANCTI ANGELI AUGUSTE PERUSIE on the arch in this miniature refers to one of the five city gates in Perugia. The miniature belonged to a codex that contained depictions of Perugia&#39;s city gates. Members of the donor Perugian family Graziani are depicted below the arch.
