# Ceiling painting [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [CORTONA, Pietro da]() - Date: 1601-1650 - Technique: Fresco ## Commentary The picture shows the centre of the ceiling painting in the Sala di Apollo. It depicts Apollo Instructing the Young Hero. Cortona left the ceiling unfinished when he returned to Rome in 1647.
