# Two women [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [MEDIEVAL SCULPTOR, French]() - Date: 1101-1150 - Technique: Stone relief ## Commentary Early Romanesque style excelled in story-telling. Later sculpture, by contrast, increasingly made its central theme the human body, not nude as in classical art, but clothed. This entailed a concentration on drapery, beginning with the abstract incised lines, as in Toulouse.
