# Monument to Pietro Bernardo [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [LOMBARDO, Tullio]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary Senator Pietro Bernardo died in 1538. His monument was built during his lifetime, it is a late work of Tullio Lombardo. The monument is divided into distinct parts. In the lower part an elegant urn is embellished with beautiful bas-reliefs of Adam and Eve on the sides. The head of the Medusa and the eagle with wings spread are worthy of note.
