## Commentary

In this scene Christ makes clear to the Pharisees that he has no interest in earthly possessions, only in heavenly riches. He points with one hand towards heaven and with the other to the coin held by the Pharisee. This painting has a Baroque movement that reflects the influence of Flemish as well as Italian art.
