The Master derives his name from the marble altarpiece and antependium in the Mascoli Chapel, San Marco. In the altarpiece the three figures stand on pedestals beneath a typically Venetian superstructure framed with acanthus leaves. In the antependium two kneeling angels cense the Cross.
