## Commentary

This painting was commissioned from Lorenzo Costa the Younger \(also Called Lorenzo Costa Mantovano\) by Guglielmo Gonzaga for the palace basilica of Santa Barbara. Guglielmo was the hunchbacked son of Federico Gonzaga.
