# Altar of the Pietà [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [LOMBARDO, Tullio]() - Date: 1501-1550 - Technique: Marble ## Commentary Tullio Lombardo's last sculptural commissions were probably largely executed by assistants. The tomb for Matteo Bellati in Feltre Cathedral, signed and dated 1528, is a simpler version of a well-known Lombardo tomb type, and the carving is of indifferent quality.
