# Claret pitcher [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [DRESSER, Christopher]() - Date: 1851-1900 - Technique: Glass, silver, ebony ## Commentary This pitcher was designed by Christopher Dresser for Hukin & Heath \(1855-1953\). The firm was established by Jonathan Wilson Hukin and John Thomas Heath as manufacturing silversmiths and electroplaters. They entered silver marks in London in 1879. The firm's collaboration with Dresser was noted by 'The Art Journal' in 1879.
