## Commentary

Johann Wilhelm Joseph Janaz of the Palatinate, also called &#34;Jan Wellem&#34; \(1658-1716\) was from 1679 Johann Wilhelm II, Duke of Jülich and Berg and from 1690 also treasurer of the Holy Roman Empire, Count Palatine Elector Palatine and Count Palatine-Duke of Palatinate-Neuburg. His equestrian statue is located at the Marktplatz in Düsseldorf-Altstadt.
