# The Acropolis at Athens [View the canonical artwork record]() ## Artwork - Artist: [KLENZE, Leo von]() - Date: 1801-1850 - Technique: Oil on canvas, 103 x 148 cm ## Commentary This ideal view was painted in 1846 from a sketch the artist made in 1843. It had two purposes.
